Who We Are | Curated Tibetan Handicrafts

Curated Tibetan Handicrafts

Tashi Delek!  Up and running since 2017, Tibet Shop Sydney is an online store that stocks handmade singing bowls, herbal incense, fashion accessories, jewellery, Tibetan handicrafts, Buddha Dharma items and more.

We are a small business right here in beautiful Sydney. We love art, culture, spirituality, music and food, and want to share our passion with you. After noticing a gap for (carefully) curated Himalayan and Tibetan handicrafts, we decided to do something, and make use of our prior experience in this space. Although our initial aim was to open a physical shop, we wanted to spread out and reach as many people as we possibly could. As a result, we are an online store only. We take pride in the quality of our products and our aim is to build an online brand where people can buy with confidence.

Kunga was first introduced to Himalayan/Tibetan singing bowls by her uncle Thonla Sonam, a passionate educator and master sound therapist, based in Milan. Here, she helped him manage a bricks and mortar Tibetan curio store before moving to Australia. She has been playing singing bowls for nearly 15 years and has together with her uncle, demonstrated its many uses and benefits on national television.

She and her brother/family source all products for Tibet Shop Sydney with great care. We pick, choose and import all products ourselves and never send an order list to a wholesaler. Our goal is to source the best quality that we can. Kunga also handles all customer service, logistics and book keeping for the business. Her husband (Dhondup) supports her with the marketing and content side of the business.

Thank-you for visiting our store and for considering doing business with us. Your support means everything. If you would like to get in touch, then please visit our Contact Page.

Funds Donated to Charity and Charitable Causes

As a business, we want to contribute to worthwhile causes and give back to our community. Although, we are not at a scale where we can support many charities, we hope to increase our giving over the years.
