  • Set of 8 flags, each flag 25 x 20 cms, 1.6 metres long

These prayer flags are dedicated to the female Buddhist meditational deity Vajrayogini.

The 8 Auspicious Symbols, or Ashtamangala, are a sacred suite of symbols in Buddhism, representing the offerings made to the Buddha upon his enlightenment. These symbols are believed to bring good fortune and are frequently depicted in Tibetan and other forms of Buddhist art.

The Parasol symbolizes protection from evil and suffering; the Golden Fish represents salvation and freedom from the cycle of suffering, as they swim freely in the ocean; the Treasure Vase signifies an endless abundance of wealth and spiritual fulfilment; the Lotus Flower embodies purity, spiritual awakening, and compassion, as it rises from muddy waters undefiled; the Conch Shell symbolizes the sound of the Dharma spreading across the world, awakening beings from ignorance; the Endless Knot represents the interconnectedness of all phenomena and the wisdom of the Buddha; the Victory Banner signifies the triumph of Buddhist teachings over ignorance and all obstacles; and the Dharma Wheel represents the teachings of the Buddha and the path to enlightenment.

Together, these symbols represent the complete spiritual journey and the qualities of an enlightened being, serving as a powerful reminder of the path to liberation.

Prayer flags are best hung in clean and pure places where they are well clear from the ground and free to flutter.
