Known as the highest quality pashmina originating from Nepal, Chyangra Pashmina utilizes fibers exclusively sourced from the Chyangra goat, which thrives at elevations exceeding 3000 meters. This particular shawl has received the government Chyangra Pashmina certification which recognises the highest quality of cashmere and includes strict quality control standards. As an example:

  • Fiber Diameter: Should not exceed 17 microns.
  • Fiber Purity: The yarn should have a minimum of 97% Pashmina fiber.

An exclusive product, less than 10% of the product in the market have this label. The result of this quality control is a product that is very light, soft to touch and warm.

What is Cashmere?

Cashmere, also known as cashmere wool, is a luxurious fibre obtained from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats and certain other breeds of Himalayan goats. This material has been used for centuries to create yarn, textiles, and clothing. The term “cashmere” is derived from an anglicisation of Kashmir (north India), the region where the famous Kashmir shawls originated in the 19th century.
