These prayer flags are dedicated to Buddha Shakyamuni and feature his sacred mantra Om Muni Muni Maha Muni Sakya Muni Swaha in Tibetan and English.
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the central figure in Buddhism. Born a prince in 6th century BCE Nepal, his sheltered life shielded him from suffering. However, a chance encounter with illness, old age, and death sparked a deep search for understanding. He renounced his princely life and embarked on a spiritual journey, eventually attaining enlightenment under a bodhi tree.
Through his teachings, he outlined the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, offering a path to liberation from suffering. Revered for his wisdom and compassion, Shakyamuni Buddha's legacy continues to inspire millions across the globe.
