Animal bones (buffalo, yak, camel, etc) are often used to make malas as they remind the wearer about impermanence. They are also associated with practices of wrathful protector deities in Buddhism.
This mala is made from 8 mm animal bone (water buffalo) beads in natural lacquer and features conch and compressed turquoise beads as spacers.
