Animal bones (buffalo, yak, camel, etc) are often used to make malas as they remind the wearer about impermanence. They are also associated with practices of wrathful protector deities in Buddhism.
This mala is made from 8 mm polished animal bone (water buffalo) beads and features skull beads as spacers.
