Bodhi trees are indigenous to Nepal and the Himalayan region. The seeds from this tree are used to make Bodhi beads, which can be identified by their distinct eye patterns. This particular mala has been special strung on high quality and durable cord on our request. 

Bodhi Seed Malas are Special

The word 'Bodhi' means 'awakened' in Sanskrit and many devotees use these beads to achieve their full spiritual potential. Bodhi seed malas are considered to be spiritually potent and therefore used during prayer and meditation. It is an excellent choice for personal, daily use and comes with a free bag for safe keeping. Note that the price of Bodhi malas have decreased substantially in the last 2-3 years due to increased supply.

Our Bodhi Mala Beads

The beads in this mala are 7-9 mm and slightly flattened, making this mala of excellent value as smaller beads tend to be more expensive. Each bead displays the Phoenix eye pattern, which is typical of Bodhi seeds. It has been lightly stained and polished with vegetable oil. As you continue to use the mala, the oils from your hand will combine with the mala to give them a distinct shine and shade.
